Growing up in Sussex, Anna spent her childhood training in the gym or in dance classes. Once at University, Anna found her new passion and has never looked back.

 

Anna works as a full-time Doctor. She manages her busy work schedule with coaching full-time at the club. As the Academy has developed, Anna has made the decision to follow a more flexible medical career path in General Practice.

Helena Zarzycki

Helena’s love of Cheerleading developed whilst studying MSc Biological Photography at the University of Nottingham.
 
Due to the growth of the club Helena's dream to become a full-time cheerleading coach and gym manager came true in April 2015. Helena now dedicates her time and heart to running EMCA, whilst coaching at both the club and within Nottinghamshire schools. Helena made the Team England All Girl Elite squad for 2015-16, and helped secure a Bronze medal in April 2016 at the ICU World Championships.

Owain Davies

B(Eng) Chemical Engineering with Diploma in Industrial Studies 2:2

 

 

Owain discovered cheerleading while playing American football for Loughborough University. Owain went on to coach the university team as well as competing with Unity Allstars level 6 team at the USASF worlds for a number of years before committing fully to EMCA.

 

Owain works full time as an Engineering Project Manager for Briggs in Burton on Trent.

Rebecca Davies

Becca was introduced to cheerleading at Loughborough University where she competed for Loughborough Goldrush until she graduated in 2011.  As well as coaching Becca has competing with Team England All Girl Elite at the 2015 ICU worlds. 

 

Becca has just graduated with a First class degree in Nursing, she is now working as a community Nurse whilst continuing to coach with EMCA. 

Jenny Charge

Jenny was introduced to cheer through the Coventy  university team. Upon completing her degree and returing to the East Midlands she discovered EMCA through a poster she saw at the hospital, she joined EMCA at the very start and has never looked back.

 

In addition to coaching Jenny has competing twice (2015 & 2016) with Team England All Girl Elite at ICU worlds. being part of the Bronze medal winning team in April 2016.

 

Jenny works as a childrens Physiotherapist.

Hattie Fellows

Hattie started cheerleading at the age of 10 with Bridgenorth Tigers and attended the very first cheerleading competition in the UK in 1999. Continued cheering and found EMCA whilst studing at Nottingham Trent in 2011. As well as coaching Hattie has also competing twice (2015 & 2016) with Team England All Girl Elite at the  ICU worlds. Hattie has received a Bronze medal with the team in April 2016.

 

Hattie runs her own fitness business, 'Hattie Fellow Health & Fitness' as well as part time teaching and sports coaching within schools.

Zoe Stretton

EMCA Team Coach - EMCA Rhapsody

Zoe started cheering with Becca whilst studying at university, she was a member of the Loughborough Goldrush competitive team throughout her time at university. Zoe was also part of a successful level 5 stunt group with Becca and two other members whilst at university. Zoe then went on to become a member of Unity Allstars Black, coed level 6 team between 2010-2011.  Zoe also made the Team England All Girl Elite 2015-16 squad, and secured a Bronze medal at the ICU World Championships with the team in April 2016.

 

Zoe then joined EMCA and has competed with both Gravity and Magic. This season Zoe is competing with Magic (2017-18) whilst coaching Rhapsody (Youth 2).

Filippa Bartlett

EMCA Team & Dance Coach - EMCA Rock & EMCA Silhouette

USASF Level 2 Coach

Filippa joined EMCA in summer 2013 after graduating from Sheffield Hallam University, where she was a member of the university cheerleading squad. Filippa competed successfully with her university cheer and dance teams throughout her time at Sheffield Hallam. Filippa also competed with her team at the University World Cheerleading Championships in Florida in January 2013.

 

Filippa currently coaches Rock (2017-18) and Silhouette, EMCA's first pom team,  and is competing with Killer Queens (2017-18)

Russell Greenwood

EMCA Team Coach - EMCA Gravity

USASF Level 3 Coach

 

Russells love of gymnastics first devloped when he joined Dako Flying Angels. He was introduced to cheerleading when he noticed  Owain and others training at the local gymnastics centre. From here he joined  Unity Allstars Black where he competed with Unity Allstars co-ed level 6 team at the USASF worlds for a number of years before committing fully to EMCA.

 

Russell enjoys coaching tumbling to the EMCA athletes.

 

Russell works for his family's company as a Air Conditioning Engineer.

Sara Zirilli

EMCA Team Coach - EMCA Sunshine

USASF Level 2 Coach

Sara was introduced to cheer through an after-school class ran by Helena. She soon fell in love with cheer and joined EMCA in 2011.

 

Sara currently coaches Sunshine and the EMCA tiny team.

 

After successfully completing her A-Levels Sara is currently studying at Nottingham Trent University

Becky Powley

EMCA Team Coach - EMCA Fantasy

USASF Level 2 Coach

Becky joined EMCA in mid-season 2015/16 after moving to Nottingham, she was an athlete on EMCA Gravity for the undeafeated season and also joined EMCA Magic (Senior All Girl level 4) for their last competiton in 2015/16. Becky joined the EMCA coaching staff from September 2016.

 

Becky currently coaches Fantasy (2017-18) and is competing with Killer Queens (2017-18)
