How do I join an EMCA team?
Our primary intake for teams is during our evaluations period in May each year. At this time we run formal evaluations over the course of a week or more to assess all athletes and determine our teams and placements for the coming season. Our evaluations process is simple and low-stress and is designed for every athlete to show the best of their skills and allow us to get the best possible picture of their talents. All athletes interested in joining an EMCA team are advised to come to Evaluations in May, even if they are still completing a competition season with another team. We are absolutely fine with this as we know every club has a different season schedule and are happy to work around existing commitments.
We do hold supplementary evaluations later in the season, usually July for those wishing to join in the summer. We love to welcome new members at this stage however, it's important to note that placement s made after initial evaluations are restricted by availability of team spaces.
We do take new members throughout the season but placements are restricted by availability of team spaces at the time of application.
